Standard operating procedure

How an examination runs, step by step

The same six steps apply to every paper, in either mode. Nothing is scored in the browser and no attempt can be edited after submission.

  1. STEP 01

    Sign in

    Use the username issued by the administrator. Candidates land on the workspace dashboard; administrators additionally get the admin console.

  2. STEP 02

    Pick a paper

    Open the Examination Library, review the marking scheme, duration and baseline on the instructions screen, then choose your mode.

  3. STEP 03

    Attempt the paper

    Answer with the question palette, flag items for review, autosave as you go, and use Save & exit if you need to step away mid-attempt.

  4. STEP 04

    Submit or auto-submit

    Submit yourself, or let the server-synced clock auto-submit at the deadline. Scoring is computed entirely on the server.

  5. STEP 05

    Read your result

    See marks, accuracy, negative marking and a statute-level breakdown, then open the official answer sheet to compare answer by answer.

  6. STEP 06

    Archive and repeat

    Reset the dashboard to archive the round as a version, then re-attempt the same paper cleanly and measure the improvement.

Choosing a mode

Strict Mode vs Practice Mode

Both modes use the same paper, the same questions and the same server-side scoring rules: a correct answer earns full marks, a wrong answer costs 25% of that question's marks, and an unattempted question scores zero. What differs is the discipline around the attempt.

Strict Mode

Simulates the real examination hall. Use it when you want an honest score.

  • Server-enforced clock; the paper auto-submits at the deadline.
  • No rationales, keys or feedback while the attempt is live.
  • One continuous sitting — leaving does not pause the timer.
  • Answer sheet and explanations unlock only after submission.
  • The result is the benchmark you should trust for readiness.

Example: you start a 120-minute, 100-mark paper in Strict Mode at 10:00. At 12:00 it submits itself even if you are mid-question. You answer 80 questions, get 60 right and 20 wrong: 60 marks earned, 5 marks deducted (20 × 25% of 1), 20 unattempted score nothing — final 55/100.

Practice Mode

Built for learning the statute, not for measuring readiness.

  • Same timer, but you can Save & exit and resume the attempt later.
  • Full review after submission: rationale, provision and authority per question.
  • Restart the paper as often as you like; each run is kept in history.
  • Ideal for working through a paper law by law with the answer sheet open.
  • Scores still count in analytics, so you can watch the trend improve.

Example: you open the same paper in Practice Mode, answer 30 questions, hit Save & exit, and resume the next day. After submitting you open the review sheet, see that every miss clustered around IBC Section 29A, and restart the paper to re-test it.

Rule of thumb: learn in Practice, prove it in Strict.
